WELCOME
On March 19, 1937, the Metropolitan Opera Guild presented its first student matinee at the Met: Verdi's Aida. Since that time, the Guild has brought hundreds of thousands of students to experience live opera at the Met. During the 1970's our programs expanded to bring opera directly into the classroom with in-school artist residencies and teacher training.
Today, the Guild provides an exciting array of opportunities for students and teachers to create, present, and attend opera. We are committed to providing arts-integrated programming that is both grade-appropriate and connected to existing school curriculum. We invite you to partner with the Metropolitan Opera Guild and let us inspire your students with the magic and creativity of opera!
